MOTTO

The Mankato East VEX Robotics program strives to teach members teamwork, integrity, good sportsmanship, and pride in oneself, our team and our school through friendly competition.

The Mankato East High School Vex Robotics Club was formed in 2013 by Mike Shores and David Stahl. Our club is extremely successful and fast growing. We have grown from one team with 6 members in 2013 to eight teams with 49 members (young men and young women) in 2023. We also have 2 past members volunteer as coaches. The club has had at least one team go to the VEX Worlds Championship past 9 years. In 2022, we had six teams go on to the MN state Vex tournament and one go on to Worlds. As a club we believe in learning by doing. We also like to do outreach events that bring robotics to the public. MEHS Vex Robotics Club teaches students about teamwork, problem solving, leadership, and community service which carries over beyond the high school years. We have past members that volunteer as club coaches as well as at tournaments. Some of our alumni have gone on to college at schools such as M.I.T., Princeton, U of M, and the SD School of Mines and Technology. Others are working at jobs that utilize the skills they have acquired while a member of our club. Robotics is a highly competitive sport that has a great deal of value in today’s technological world.
